Theos-2

La GISTDA (Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of Thailand) a confié à Airbus DS la livraison de satellites d’observation de la terre de nouvelle génération. THEOS-2 est un système satellitaire optique fournissant des images à 50 centimètres de résolution. Airbus DS fournit également des services de transfert de capacité à travers six formations en Thaïlande, dans le domaine de l’agriculture et la sécurité alimentaire, ainsi que les ressources naturelles et écosystèmes. GlobEO a été choisi avec d’autres partenaires pour dispenser des formations sur les thématiques liées au suivi des forêts et des champs agricoles à l’aide de données satellitaires radar.

The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of Thailand (GISTDA) has selected Airbus as partner for its next-generation national geo-information system, including Earth Observation satellites, capacity building and integrated geo-information platform. THEOS-2 is an optical satellite system delivering images with a ground resolution of 0.5 meter, scheduled to be launched in 2020.

Airbus developed six application workshops in Thailand, including the Agriculture and Food Security, and the Natural Resources and Ecosystem application workshops. As part of this program, GlobEO was selected as a contributor by providing methods for rice and forest monitoring and associated trainings.
